Busy bee.

Holy moly.  I realize I haven't blogged in foreverrr. My bad, Kathy.

Anyway.  I've been incredibly busy!  First off, I know I've mentioned I work 3 jobs...but I didn't explain what exactly I'm doing.  My first job I work at is an insurance company in my hometown as a secretary.  I work there two or three days a week from 8:30am-4:30pm.  The second job I have is at the Americinn hotel.  I work front desk on call and housekeeping every other weekend.  Finally my third job is being a waitress at this small town cafe.  I love that job the most. My car is basically my closet; as I've been living out of it for the past week.  Right now it has everything from my straightner to my rollerblades to a menu from the cafe I waitress at in it.  ha! SOoo. Here is a summary of my week:

Wednesday the 25th I worked from 8:30-2:30pm at the insurance company and then worked 3-7pm at the hotel.  After work I went for a run and then went out with some friends.  We played wiffleball and went bowling.  I love these people.  They always know how to make me laugh.  & we always have the greatest times together.

Then on Thursday I worked at the insurance company from 8:30am-4:30pm and THEN worked at the cafe from 5pm to close.  I spent the night at my grandma's.  I truly appreciate getting to spend the night at her house.  It takes me back to my childhood.  I'm SO thankful that I am fortunate enough to have this relationship with my grandma.

Friday I worked 8:30-3:30pm and then went to the MN Twins game with some of my closest girls. :)  We had a BLAST...even though it was an extremely intense game and we ended up losing.

Target Field.

We made it on the big screen! :)

Sometimes...well, we forget we're in public.

Rally Time!

On the glove outside after the game. I just love these girls!

Saturday I went to breakfast at the cafe I work at (since my uncle's girlfriend owns it) & we had a farewell breakfast for my aunt Jessie.  Her boyfriend of 9 years, yes, NINE years has a business in Alaska and she lives there now.  I'm SO close with her and I always miss her terribly when she goes back.  Thank the Lord for skype and cell phones.  I said my goodbyes to her :(  BUT then my mom took me to get an upgrade on my cell phone and I got a new phone! I got a Blackberry Torch, & needless to say, I'm in love! haha.  I worked at the cafe from 11-7pm and went to one of my very best friend's grad parties.  Libby and I have been friends for a few years and her party was a blast.  I loved catching up with some people I hadn't seen for quite some time.

Sunday I worked 9am-2pm at the cafe and then my friend from college, Kenzie, came to visit me! :)  We had lots of fun, and had a sleepover in my twin bed.  It was so wonderful catching up with her.  I missed her so much in the month that I hadn't seen her.  We went to the movie "Bridesmaids"  and made a McD's run at night.  We always have the best deep convos together.

50s Style McD's :) Cute pink car booth!

Turtle Turtle.

Duckies by the river.

Us on a walk. :) Miss her already!

On a side note...I feel like I live two lives.  Like I have my friends/family at home AND I have all of my friends from school.  I always wonder when the two will collide, but I don't think they ever will.  I mean my home friends will never be good friends with my college friends.  It's so weird...SO having Kenzie in my hometown was/is probably the closest it's gonna come to combining the two.  It was such a bizarre feeling to have Kenzie in extremely familiar places to me in my hometown (where I grew up and all the kids around here are also familiar with.)
On Monday Kenzie and I went to brunch with my other friend Brittany who goes to college with us.  Then I went to my mom's house for a bit to hang out with my sisters. I  miss them.  Since I moved to my dad's house in February of 2010 I don't get to spend as much time with them as I'd like.  I miss them.  I went back to my house and cleaned up my room/car.  Then I skyped with my former RA's girlfriend and my good friend from college, Ashley.  I loved catching up with her. In the midst of skyping I was blogging this post.  THEN the power/internet went out at my house! :(  SOOO I decided to finish and post today.  Life has been sooo crazy lately.  It amazes me that a whole month has passed since I was at school.

Today I went for a run with Libby and worked with a girl I graduated high school with, Jenna.  Jenna and I working together is so much fun.  We laugh about everything and have great conversations.   I just got home and now I'm getting sleeeeeepy.  It's been one hell of a week.

I got a brand new pair of rollerskate; you got a brand new key.

Rollerblading.  Brings back memories...
One of my friends from high school, Sam, and I went rollerblading today on a local trail.  It crosses a nearby dam.  Needless to say, I NEED new rollerblades :( haha. Halfway through our rollerblade trip I looked at my right front wheel! Take a peek...
The trail.

HA! Look at the right wheel. :/  That's why I was going so slowly!  I've had them since 5th grade!! Time for new ones...

Sam-"This reminds me of the Lion King." BAHAAA.

At the dam!  <3

I've learned...

A friend e-mailed this to me about a month and a half ago after a break up.  I absolutely love this.  I have it posted by my mirror; so I see it every morning!

I've learned-
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I've learned-
that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I've learned-
that people will forget what you said, and people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

I've learned-
that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I've learned-
that you can keep going long after you can't.

I've learned-
...that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I've learned-
that either you control your attitude or it controls you.  (SO TRUE.)

I've learned-
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.   (LOVE THIS ONE!)

I've learned-
that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I've learned-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I've learned-
that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time. (LOVE THIS ONE TOO!)

I've Learned-
that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.   (YEP.)

I've learned-
that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.

I've learned-
...that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.

I've learned-
that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned-
that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.

I've learned-
that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse.

I've learned-
that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better know something.

I've learned-
that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do.

I've learned-
that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I've learned-
that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

Gee-Whilakers.

How long were you with your last boyfriend?
We dated for 6 months.

What are your chances of getting with your crush?
Meh. I'm not sure.

Sometimes.  But not usually.

What's the last nice thing someone did for you?

I've done both.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.

How many websites do you visit daily?
A lot.  About 10 on average.

What is something you're currently nervous about?
This whole car situation.  I just don't want to get royally screwed over in the end.  I want to buy a car that I like and  can depend on.  Not one that I'm expecting to break down any moment.

What is something you're wondering about?
Hm. There are a few things.
Will my parents cosign?  How much will my next paycheck be? How does he feel?

How long have you liked your crush?
A long time. Baha.

Do you look at yourself in the mirror a lot?
Just when I'm getting ready for the day or when I'm washing my hands.

No. I'm the definition of neat freak.

Do you do your own laundry?
Yes.  I actually don't like when other people do my laundry.

Music, fo sho.

TV.  Like I said, I rarely watch TV.

What sports do you play?
I played volleyball and softball in high school.  Loved it, just not the coaches.

Is your family tree confusing to explain?
Yes. Absolutely.  My family is FULL of divorces :/

Are your parents religious?
Hm. Not really.  My dad is more than my mom.  They just don't preach it or let it me easily shown.

Are you religious?
Eh.  Sort of.

When was the last time you cried?
Last night. I was SO crabby.  Everything was annoying and I just wanted to go back to college.

Explain how you feel about your crush.
No need to explain.

What is the last song that you listened to?
Honey bee-Blake Shelton. :)

I like Aerie. :)

Stupid with two "o's"

Guess what?! My mom got Chinese for dinner last night.  I was extremely happy.  Chinese food is so gooood.  Aside from that: As you all know I've been this little busy bee workaholic lately.  Meh.  I'm not going to complain because the money is nice and I want to work a lot this summer.  Yesterday though I got off of work at 4:30pm.  I went to my mom's (where there was Chinese food calling my name)  and my mom and I were looking on the internet for used cars for me.  The car I drive is a beauty, let me tell you.  The AC doesn't work.  The power lock doesn't work on the driver door.  It randomly decides not to start...conveniently in the midst of winter.  Yeah, you get the picture.  Then at about 8pm I left my house to go to my friend MaKayla's where she was hosting a sleepover with some of my close high school friends.  I was only about 5 miles away from my house when what I thought was the power steering went out.  So I pulled over to find that there was hot liquid pouring out of the bottom of my car and it was steaming/smoking. PLUS it was raining cats & dogs outside.  Just my luck.  I actually was laughing as this was happening because I'd been expecting it for a while.  hah.  Needless to say, my car was towed back to my house and I'm now car-less.  Talk about stoopid.  Thanks for reading my pointless vent sesh.

Hey there pretty little girl.

Sooo. Yeah.  This is what my best friend and I do.  Ya know, like when you just want to really really show how truly immature and silly you can be.  Our sleepovers are better than your mom's home made chocolate cake. You know this video is funny. Laugh. Now. :)
Don't be afraid to comment either.  You are more than welcome to share how much you like this video.
AND here is a blooper.

Fearless Teenage Dream.

These two very pretty ladies can get me through almost anything.  I know what song my iPod put on shuffle two seconds into the song; that's how much I like them.  The emotions behind each one of their songs are so prominent. & they vary so much from giddy on a first date to the sadness of growing up to anger and hurt behind a break up to how much fun they are having with life.  Their lyrics are so easy to relate to.  I just love the way "Haunted," "Last Kiss," and "Mine" by TSwift relate to my last relationship.  Or how "Fifteen" makes me think of the time I accidentally elbow dialed my boyfriend at the time as I was screaming it to the windshield of my car one night on my way home from work. Oops, that's embarrassing. :)  Or how "Tied Together With a Smile" reminds me of the middle of my senior year (for a few different reasons.)  Or how "Enchanted" and "Hey Stephen"by TSwift and "Thinking of You" by Katy Perry remind me of an old crush.  Or how "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry reminds me of my freshman year room mate, Rachel.  Or how "Teenage Dream" reminds me of the beginning of my freshman year.  These are just a few of the examples I have.  There are SO many more.  These two women create masterpieces every time they pick up the microphone or guitar.

Kylie Cakes.

Miss Kylie was the highlight of my day.  I miss her sooo much when I'm away at college.  I had a lot of fun playing with her today outside on this B.E.Auuutiful day.  The dog below is our family dog "Katie." HAHA. Yes, Katie.  My little brother named her. :P  & the football picture...well you can definitely tell she has two older brothers! Go figure.  I wish she would stay this age forever; she's so much fun to be around.  Her giggles and imagination are never ending.

"Bwanna, you are always are so silly."

Aside from Kylie today I got all of my laundry done.  Yes, all two weeks worth.  My laundry basket was being consumed.  I also went for another run today.  My hip flexors are sore! ugh.  I can't wait for the day I can run miles upon miles straight.
You can say I had  a great day.

Life Lesson #395

Lock your vehicle. Always.
This is from left: me, Libby, and Alissa.
This was taken after the high school spring choir concert last night...We were trying to teach someone a lesson :)  Our good friend, Hayley, never locks her van.  We decided we should probably sit in the back of it and wait for her to come out to her van after the concert to scare her.  Our plan was going so smoothly.  THEN when she finally came out of the school she brought two other people with her.  RATS.  We were hoping she'd be alone.  Booooo.  Luckily the two others didn't make a scene about us being back there and we were still able to scare Hayley.  Live & learn. Lock your vehicles so creeps like us don't attempt to scare you. :) That is all. Kthanksbye.

Best Advice I've received this week.

"Remember, kittens take two weeks to open their eyes; men take 21 years."
SO true.

Silly goose.

I had a very productive day today!  I woke up at 7am, got my oil changed in my car, went to Alissa's, and we headed to a city about half hour away to go shopping!  I got some summer clothes while we were shopping.  HA. For those of you who know what my closet looks like you're probably saying "More clothes?!" my answer is YES.  :)  Alissa and I went shopping today for about 5 hours. and this is what happens when you eat too much too fast...uffta.

THEN. Once we got back from the mall I went for a run with one of my best friends from high school, Libby.  We want to run a 5K soon, possibly the end of June.  She lives on the Mississippi River and we spotted these cute little goslings with their parents before our run.  They were just little fuzz heads & SO darling.

This is the Mississippi. GAH. This makes me want warm weather and summer so badly.
& This is me just trying out my artsy photography. :)

Aristocats.

For those of you following my other blog...you know we had Easter kitties!  Well, today they are 3 weeks old and finally developing their own personalities.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT a cat person.  In fact, I really really do not like cats.  I prefer dogs any day.  THESE kitties are just too cute to pass up though.  Our cat, Sadie, had SEVEN kittens.  Surprisingly all of them have lived & out of the seven kittens only one is orange.  All of the rest are different patterns of black.  My favorites are the orange one and this black one with the white face and white tipped tail.  I wish they would stay this small forever!  Oh! & the cute little red curly haired girl...yep, she's my little sister, Kylie. :)

Listmaker extraordinaire.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE making lists. It's a daily occurrence for me, and it happens multiple times a day.  Here is a small list of little moments in life that I adore.

1. buying stunning clothes...on sale.
2. holding hands & forehead kisses.
3. talking on the phone for hours and feeling like only 20 minutes have passed because you have THAT much to talk about.
4. laying on someone's chest.
5. floating down the river on a hot summer day.
6. deciding what exactly you want to do for the rest of your life.
7. feeling as though you "belong."
8. having a spotless room & everything is organized.
9. meeting someone for the first time and immediately knowing they'll change your life.
10. standing in a steamy shower that rinses away all of your worries.
11. sitting down to a delicious meal to only be proven correct. It was delicious.
12. falling asleep instantly after a long day.
13. realizing someone actually wants to be with you, too.
14. hitting that note on your favorite song.
15. butterflies after an amazing first date.
16. drinking a cup of hot tea.
17. taking off your shoes after a long run/workout.
18. finally realizing everything WILL fall into place, even if it's not as planned.

Bird bird bird. Bird is the word.

I saw feather extensions in a magazine I was reading about 4 months ago & I've wanted them ever since.  I have been on the lookout for them, but to my dismay I haven't been able to find a salon that does them ANYWHERE! Until... I came home for summer vacation and found this cute boutique in my hometown that does them for c.h.e.a.p. :)  My best friend, Alissa, and I went earlier this week and got them! I really like them and they are expected to stay in for about 2 months. Just in time for summer!

Wucky.

Today I was in a local grocery store looking at the shelves trying to decide what I exactly I wanted.  A small boy was riding in the cart his mom was pushing.  She wasn't really paying much attention to him as he was munching on his fruit snacks.  He was singing a little song and talking to his snacks before he put each one in his mouth.  Then, he looked up at his mom and said "Mama, I'm so wucky."  She said "Why are you so lucky?"  He replied "Because I have wots of  good stuff in my wife [life]."  It was so adorable.  I didn't expect something so deep to come from such a small child.  It really got me thinking on my drive home from the store what exactly I'm thankful for/what I'm lucky to have in my life.

-My family.  ALL of them. This sounds so cliche, but I really don't know how I would live without them.
-My education.  I never realized I was lucky to have this until my friend was telling me how she can't go to the college she wants because of her family life. ugh.
-Friendships. My friends are what keep me sane.  We laugh, we cry, we dance. :)
-Love.  Enough said.
-Food. I love eating. baha.
-Blankets.  I can't sleep without blankets. Drives me nuts.
-Relationships. Even though I'm single, I'm lucky enough to have had the experiences of being in love and being heartbroken. Live & learn.  Plus, I've developed an amazing friendship from one of my relationships.
-A house.  Duh.
-A phone. Contact to the outside world. (Although it slightly irritates me that people can get ahold of me whenever wherever.
-Money. Being broke isn't fun.
-Internet. I don't remember the last time I went 24 hours without the internet.
-Music. It hold so many emotions.  I love feeling the mood of each melody running through my ears.
-My health. I'm lucky to be healthy.  I'm lucky to not have disabilities. I'm SO thankful for that.
-Having a job. Especially as a first year college student during the summer, getting a job is the farthest thing from easy.
-Pets. I love dogs!
-Freedom. Living in America is awesome.
-Chocolate. Gummy worms. Candy in general. YUM.
-Water.  I drink lots 'o water.
-HOT water.  shower time. yes, I love a good steamy shower.
-Electricity.  I'm kind of afraid of the dark!
-My car. I hate being cooped up.
Obviously this is just a small fraction of the things I'm lucky to have.
BUT I'm extremely lucky just for this list.

Arachnophobia at 7am.

Today...THIS is what I woke up to. I'm terrified of spiders.  Guess what else? My dad was at work already.  For about 45 minutes I kept my eye on it... you know how once you take your eyes off of a spider, it disappears.  Yeah, I wasn't going to live through that.  Finally I decided that I wasn't leaving the house for the day without it gone.  There was no way, no  how I was gonna sleep tonight if I had Mr.eight legs prowling around my room.  I had to put my big girl pants on and smush it myself. This thing was about the size of a fifty-cent piece.  On the count of three I hesitantly squinted my eyes and pushed my shoe on it. BOOM. You're dead.

5.10.2011

First off.

Well hello there!
I can't really say I'm completely new to the blogger world.  I started another blog in October 2010, and have done a pretty good job writing at least weekly.  Now though, I wanted to start a public blog.  I love writing in general.  I have found that I thoroughly enjoy looking at other people's blogs and I felt as though it's only fair that I make one in return! :)
A little about me...

I'm eighteen.  My parents were never married, never divorced, but have been separated since I was very little.  My dad married my stepmom when I was 8, and I have 3 younger siblings at his house.  My mom never married, but has been with what I call my "stepdad" since I was 9.  I have 2 younger sisters at my mom's.   All five of my siblings range from ages 13 to 3.

I just finished my freshman year in college.

I live (and love living) in the country.

I grew up with good morals.

I have a WIDE taste in music.  Rap to country to acoustic to screamo.

I can get along with almost anyone.

Boys are cute,  but stupid sometimes.

I value my education greatly.

I like to sing obnoxiously loud in the car.

I plan on being a dentist...only 7 more years to go, haha.

I brush my teeth in the shower. Saves time.

I've recently realized how artsy I am (painting, beads, ceramics.)  I love coming up with new projects and things to do.  I haven't taken an art class since middle school, and I wasn't that great back then.  Since starting college, I have found great enjoyment and appreciation out of art.

I'm working three jobs this summer. Yes, I am crazy.

Speaking of which, I'm working in the morning. Soooo, goodnight! More to come tomorrow!
